FAQ
Ask-Sudoku is really simple to use but you might have some question. If some question are not adressed here feel free to contact us.
How puzzle are solved?
There is no big secret here. The first step is to list all possible choices in each cell like human would do. Then we choose the cell with the lowest number of available choices. We reflect our choice in the other cells by removing some possibilities. And we continue by choosing another cell and making a choice.
It's a tree every time we make a choice is like a new branch. When we arrive in an invalid puzzle we go back in the tree and explore other branch.
What is the difference between "Solve all" and "Solve cell"?
"Solve all" give you the entire solution.Using "Solve cell" allow you to just have the value of one cell. You select a cell by clicking on it. They may be multiple available choice if your Sudoku is not complete and no choice if your Sudoku is broken.
How can I have mutiple answer to a puzzle?
It is sometime possible for a puzzle to have multiple solutions. In that case Ask-Sudoku will tell you that other solutions exist. This may happen if you have submit a random puzzle or an incomplete one. Sudoku you find in newspaper or magazine should obviously give you only one solution.
This functionality should be helpful if you are a Sudoku creator and you want to ensure that the puzzle you have just created contains one unique solution.
